This blog began with our journey to China when we received our adopted daughter and third child, Alexandra. The lady bug is the common symbol, or mascott for adopted Chinese daughters. The blog has since evolved into a journal of our trials, triumphs, joys and complete loss of sanity (that is often restored by copious amounts of chocolate or beer- taken only on an as needed basis, of course), as we embrace daily life with four beautiful little children.

Work Published, Age 5

Did you know that Joe is an author? This year at pre-school he's completed three works, which he dictates to his teacher. Joe of course, is the illustrator. We've enjoyed flipping through his "books" and thought we'd share one with you.

This one is untitled and it goes like this:

A boy meets a giraffe. It was a giraffe-monkey! He loved to eat bananas. At ninety-ten the giraffe turned into a robot-monkey. He tied the boy up.

This is ninety-ten.
109
(Joe writes this himself)

The boy untied himself, but then he saw something sneaking up behind him. He thought it was the robot-monkey, but it wasn't. It was a whole bunch of robot-monkeys! There was a big, big battle. He hurt his hand on the sword, but then he got a Band-Aid from the good robot-monkey.

The End.
