This blog began with our journey to China when we received our adopted daughter and third child, Alexandra. The lady bug is the common symbol, or mascott for adopted Chinese daughters. The blog has since evolved into a journal of our trials, triumphs, joys and complete loss of sanity (that is often restored by copious amounts of chocolate or beer- taken only on an as needed basis, of course), as we embrace daily life with four beautiful little children.

Some things about three year olds

1. Caution- three-year-olds may throw a fit if they disapprove of your dinner selection for the evening. They may make it abundantly clear that pasta with a side of pickles is the preferred course.

2. Three-year-olds WILL discover that the heads of dolls are removable. Legs too. As a result, you may find doll body parts littering your bedroom floor.

3. Three-year-old girls have an innate desire to wear their pink leotards, tutus and tap shoes everywhere you attempt to take them. They especially have a tendency towards this when it's freezing outside or if they simultaneously intend to sit down and play in the dirt.

4. Some-three-year olds may refuse to brush their teeth. In rare cases they may choose a trip to the corner for time out over hygiene. Some of these said three-year-olds are so stubborn that you will have to submit to brushing their teeth while standing in the corner because they refuse to come out.

5. Three-year-olds sing loudly and think they sound good. Be warned though. Fathers of three-year-old daughters think they sound like angels and melt after the first note.
