This blog began with our journey to China when we received our adopted daughter and third child, Alexandra. The lady bug is the common symbol, or mascott for adopted Chinese daughters. The blog has since evolved into a journal of our trials, triumphs, joys and complete loss of sanity (that is often restored by copious amounts of chocolate or beer- taken only on an as needed basis, of course), as we embrace daily life with four beautiful little children.

Interesting Observation

When Allie was a baby she hated being on her tummy. Babies in China are rarely given "tummy time" and so every time we put her on her tummy she cried. Not surprisingly, she didn't learn to crawl until she was 12 months old (and then she gave up and walked at 13 months).

Funny now that after one month of swimming lessons she hates to swim on her tummy but is already an expert at swimming on her back!
