It may be windy and chilly there.
It may be cloudy and the water is too cold for swimming.
Its deafening roar conveys its great power.
Its shoreline expands forever. There are few people and no boundaries. No property lines that tell you to turn around and go back.
Its white-capped rolling waves are hypnotic.
Its vastness is embracing, spilling onto the shore calcified evidence of its permanent inhabitants.
It is beautiful and mesmerizing, but if not respected, it can be deadly.
Its strong breeze does not relent, leaving behind its salty mist on the tongue.
Being there is an opportunity for solitude and it provides one of the greatest feelings in the world: that of freedom.
It's the mighty Pacific.
And when near it, I am pacified.

So jealous. Colorado has nothing that compares.
