This blog began with our journey to China when we received our adopted daughter and third child, Alexandra. The lady bug is the common symbol, or mascott for adopted Chinese daughters. The blog has since evolved into a journal of our trials, triumphs, joys and complete loss of sanity (that is often restored by copious amounts of chocolate or beer- taken only on an as needed basis, of course), as we embrace daily life with four beautiful little children.

He finally lost a tooth!

*News update- Joe has also just lost his second bottom tooth!

Poor Joe has been waiting for over a year since his twin lost his first tooth. The Tooth Fairy has visited Aaron four times and all Joe could do was wait while his brother continued to fill his piggy bank! To make matters worse, Joe's bottom permanent teeth grew in behind his baby teeth (he looked like a shark). He had to wait even longer until his permanent teeth were almost completely in, before his stubborn baby teeth would budge! Finally he could celebrate. And after pulling out that first tooth and showing it to everyone in the house, calling grandparents with the big news, and dancing around the house like a football star after winning the Superbowl, there was only one thing left to do: loose it. And he did. I found it in the carpet about three days later.

But the Tooth Fairy came anyway.

Julia has had to write several notes to the Tooth Fairy to let her know about lost teeth. And she always asks the Tooth Fairy to write back!
