This blog began with our journey to China when we received our adopted daughter and third child, Alexandra. The lady bug is the common symbol, or mascott for adopted Chinese daughters. The blog has since evolved into a journal of our trials, triumphs, joys and complete loss of sanity (that is often restored by copious amounts of chocolate or beer- taken only on an as needed basis, of course), as we embrace daily life with four beautiful little children.

Our Child-proof Charlie Brown Tree

This has been our Christmas tree for the past five years. It's three feet tall and it sits atop our entertainment center. The kids decorate it each year and then it goes up high where it can be 'observed with our eyes and not our hands.' It's a cute little tree, really, even though the branches are hard to see under all the ornaments. Perhaps next year we will attempt a 'real' tree? Or perhaps not. After 5 baby years in a row, this humble little tree has started to grow on me!
