Aaron- Batman!
Joe- Spiderman! (We had a little trouble with the mask)
Alexandra- Black Cat
and...
Christina, the Superchicken!
Evening Highlight: Following the kids to a neighbor's door and finding Joe, who pushed his way into their house, found the candy bowl, and began filling his bucket, one handful after another. Apparently the advice, "We only take one", did not register.
Evening Point of Interest: Finding a piece of corn-on-the-cob at the end of our driveway. The explanation from my husband? "Some kid had the nerve to show up at our door without a costume on, so I gave him a piece of corn." Apparently, the kid wasn't impressed with his "treat."
Honestly? I applaud John's effort. These kids think it's a free-for-all. They don't understand that they need to earn their candy by at least having the decency to don a Halloween costume! This corn-on-the-cob offering was just. And it seconds my Great-Grandma Young's idea of offering such children a scoop of ice cream in their Halloween bags! Brilliant.

My Mom would be so proud of John. That story about the ice cream for trick or treaters has gotten a lot of miles over the years and I'm glad you included it.
