This blog began with our journey to China when we received our adopted daughter and third child, Alexandra. The lady bug is the common symbol, or mascott for adopted Chinese daughters. The blog has since evolved into a journal of our trials, triumphs, joys and complete loss of sanity (that is often restored by copious amounts of chocolate or beer- taken only on an as needed basis, of course), as we embrace daily life with four beautiful little children.

Tough Day at Work

Resident spider crab

Nauset Light House, Cape Cod (This image is actually from our last field trip).

...Took 10 kids on a boat ride to a little island to collect quohogs and soft-shelled clams this morning.

...Then took my next class to the beach to collect periwinkle snails, shrimp, worms, crabs, hermit crabs, fish, limpets, mussels, barnacles, whelks, etc.

The weather was perfect.

Yeah, life's rough. Sigh. Just too rough.
