This blog began with our journey to China when we received our adopted daughter and third child, Alexandra. The lady bug is the common symbol, or mascott for adopted Chinese daughters. The blog has since evolved into a journal of our trials, triumphs, joys and complete loss of sanity (that is often restored by copious amounts of chocolate or beer- taken only on an as needed basis, of course), as we embrace daily life with four beautiful little children.

Lent
Today (Ash Wednesday) marks the beginning of the journey of Lent- a holy season of thanksgiving and sacrifice for God's abundant blessings.
I will start with a prayer of thanks for all of you- my dear friends and family!
A word from the coughing, hacking wise man who thought he was cool so cool when he was 15: "Please, don't attempt to quit smoking for Lent.... you'll just make yourself and you family around you miserable at Easter. What you can do though is plan a vacation that you can take (with out the kids) and quit smoking then, in an abnormal and positively distracting envoronment. It works great! Just make sure you bring your wife and her whip." Love, U. Jason (cough)

Ok Jas- if I decide to take up smoking, I'll keep that in mind
