This blog began with our journey to China when we received our adopted daughter and third child, Alexandra. The lady bug is the common symbol, or mascott for adopted Chinese daughters. The blog has since evolved into a journal of our trials, triumphs, joys and complete loss of sanity (that is often restored by copious amounts of chocolate or beer- taken only on an as needed basis, of course), as we embrace daily life with four beautiful little children.

Servin' up Bugs

Joe and Aaron have been enjoying their new kitchen/bbq set that they got for their birthday. A friend also got them a game composed of many multi-colored bugs (beetles, spiders, worms, flies... the works). The game is really a cute counting and color matching game, but the boys have found ways to put these bugs to use like I never thought possible. Since my little chefs have been putting their creative skills to work, I have been served bug soup, bug coffee, bug pancakes, bbq'd bug hamburgers, bug salad and every other bug dish imaginable! Of course, they are delighted when they see my overjoyed reaction when "tasting" each masterpiece. And it's not surprising when I ask "What's for dinner?" "Why, bugs of course!", they answer with pride.
