This blog began with our journey to China when we received our adopted daughter and third child, Alexandra. The lady bug is the common symbol, or mascott for adopted Chinese daughters. The blog has since evolved into a journal of our trials, triumphs, joys and complete loss of sanity (that is often restored by copious amounts of chocolate or beer- taken only on an as needed basis, of course), as we embrace daily life with four beautiful little children.

And We're Off!

Tomorrow we leave for Beijing! We are flying non-stop from Newark, NJ and landing in Beijing sometime Sunday afternoon. We will stay the night in Beijing and then travel to Nanchang on Monday. Tuesday is the day we've been waiting for- Alexandra's "Gotcha" day. We will remain in Nanchang for a week, where the adoption is finalized. We have been promised a bus ride for a visit to the orphanage in Nanfeng, Allie's birth town. We then fly to Guangzhou on the 5th, where the baby's visa will be processed. We return home on the 9th.

We are ready. Aaron and Joe are ready. The grandparents are ready. Poor Allie probably isn't ready, but she'll figure it out.

Wish us luck!

Zai Jien (bye, bye)
