This blog began with our journey to China when we received our adopted daughter and third child, Alexandra. The lady bug is the common symbol, or mascott for adopted Chinese daughters. The blog has since evolved into a journal of our trials, triumphs, joys and complete loss of sanity (that is often restored by copious amounts of chocolate or beer- taken only on an as needed basis, of course), as we embrace daily life with four beautiful little children.

Adoption Status

For those who are wondering, we have still not received a referral and we are not expecting it for a couple weeks yet. We are at the front of the line though. The last group to receive their referrals (those who sent their papers in January) received their referrals on September 1st. China has been fairly consistent about sending the referrals out about every 5 weeks. I will of course post some information as soon as it comes in! For those who are wondering about the title of my blog: the lady bug is the symbol, or mascot, of adoptions from China. "My Ladybug" and "Little Ladybug" were taken, so "Tiny Ladybug" was the best I could do. Who knows, there's a good chance she'll be tiny- it's a baby coming after all!
